Amboy – Roy’s Cafe
Roy Crowl and his wife Velma were the owners of the café in the small town Amboy. They lived here with their children Lloyd and Betty. In 1938, Roy opened a gas station with a garage. As traffic on this route was busy, this business had been profitable. Besides the gas station a motel and a café were opened. When in 1972 the interstate was build, Roy had to shut his business. A couple of years ago the café was reopened due to more and more tourists on Route 66.
